ECWSA AutoPay Is Here!

by Laura Kamienski

With the ever increasing cost of goods and services, none of us wants to incur the added expense of late charges fees and penalties. They can add up!

The digital age provides us with a multitude of ways to pay our bills. Most ECWSA customers pay by check, cash or money order. But now the ECWSA offers two other convenient ways to pay your water and sewer bill electronically; eNETPAY© on line credit card payment and now ECWSA AutoPay.

Let’s look at the advantages and disadvantages of each method of payment.

eNETPAY©

eNETPAY© is a private online payment service offered by Hamer Enterprises.
Our customers can access eNETPAY© online at our website  by clicking on the “Online Payment” link. This link will take you directly to eNETPAY©’s server. Once there you will need to enter all of your payment information, including your name address, account number and credit/debit card information. In a pinch, this service is a great way to avoid late charges and penalties.

The disadvantage of eNETPAY© is that customers will still need to remember to make their payment before the last business day of the month. There is also a service charge involved. Hamer Enterprises service charges are as follows:

eNETPAY© Service Fee Schedule
·         Any single cumulative transaction totaling $1.00 through $100 - $3.50
·         Any single cumulative transaction totaling $100.01 through $200 - $6.75
·         Any single cumulative transaction totaling $200.01 through $300 - $10.00
·         Any single cumulative transaction totaling $300.01 through $400 - $13.25
·         Any single cumulative transaction totaling $400.01 through $500 - $16.50
·         And so on… And so on…

These fees can also add up, especially on a large bill. Customers who like pay electronically now have a new option, ECWSA AutoPay.

ECWSA AutoPay

The ECWSA now offers a new AutoPay service through Northwest Bank. By enrolling in this service your water and sewer bill is conveniently deducted from your checking or savings account automatically on, or about, the twentieth day of each month. This is a free service for our customers.

There are two options for payment using AutoPay. The first is the variable payment option. With this payment option the exact amount of your current water bill will be automatically deducted from your account. The second is a set payment amount. With this payment option you can estimate what your water and sewer bills are each month and have a specific amount deducted monthly.

The advantage of the variable payment option is that your account will never get behind. With a fixed payment amount, there is a possibility of your account getting behind, which could result in late charges and requiring you to submit an additional payment to make up the difference.

The main advantages of enrolling in ECWSA AutoPay is that it’s a free service, and you’ll never have to worry about being late on your water and sewer bill payment. The disadvantage is that you will need to make sure that there are funds available for the debit to avoid non-sufficient funds fees.

Another advantage of using ECWSA AutoPay instead of your own bank’s online payment system is the lag time between submitting your bank payment and when we actually receive the bank check at our office, which can take five business days or more.

Enrolling in ECWSA AutoPay is easy. Simply download and complete the application. Return it to our office, along with a voided check or savings deposit slip. Once enrolled, you can rest easy that you’ll never pay late charges or penalties again.
